LGBTQ+ trailblazers have changed the course of history worldwide with contributions to liberty, freedom, and social justice. Pioneers like James Baldwin, Marsha P. Johnson, and Andrea Jackson, the first openly transgender Black woman elected to Congress, have forged a path toward equal justice under the law, particularly for LGBTQ+ citizens.

 The Alvin O. McCray and Jason M. Rudman Scholarship at the Point Foundation is granted to LGBTQ+ students of color attending a community college and focused on an area of study in social justice, criminal justice, or public policy with the vision and determination to change the world for marginalized communities.
